Apple introduced today a feature that has been lacking since the launch of iTunes, Complete my Album. The strength of iTunes is that you hear a new song on the radio that you like, you can spend $1 on iTunes and have it on your iPod in a matter of minutes. The song ends up being crappy, big deal, you are out a dollar. Maybe you love the song, and purchase another one from the band’s album, which also totally rocks. So, you are $2 into the album, and you decide you want to buy the entire thing, as it sounds like the rest of the songs are as good as the first two. Prior to this morning, you would have to fork out the entire $9.99 or whatever the cost may be, as iTunes didn’t give you credit for any previous purchase.
Apparently the light went on at Apple. Starting this morning, any single song purchases will count towards the album purchase price as long as you buy the album within 180 days of buying the singles. About freaking time.
