In an interesting episode of DiggNation, a drunken Kevin Rose spills the details about the upcoming iPhone from apple. Just in case you didn’t know, Kevin Rose was the co-star of TechTV’s Screen Savers, and most lately, founder of Digg. Kevin was also the first credible person to predict the iPod Nano when announced a few years back, and has been spot on with predictions concerning Apple in the past:
During the episode, the following specs were given:
• Going to be coming out in January
• All phone providers
• “It’s small as sh@t”
• Don’t know anything about the Operating System
• The OS is supposed to be “cool”
• Doing some unique things
• Two batteries, one charger. One battery for MP3 portion and one for iPhone.
• 4GB ($249) and 8GB ($449)
• Flash memory, Slide out keyboard
• Maybe touch screen?
An absolutely fascinating piece to watch, you can tell Kevin wants to spit this all out. A big price difference between the 4 and 8GB models, since there is only a $50 difference between a 4 and an 8GB iPod Nano. Rumor has is that the 4GB iPhone will be a basic phone with iPod functions (think Nano with a phone) while the 8GB will be more of a smart phone, with more functions.
While we were all pretty sure we would see the iPhone during the first quarter of 2007, this is really the first real evidence we have seen that the iPhone will be here sooner rather than later.
