I just ran across the coolest plug-in for Safari. I use Firefox and Safari on and off, depends on what machine I am on. I find Safari to be quicker on many machines, but I love all the add-ons for Firefox, so when a great plug-in for Safari comes along, it makes my day.
Inquisitor ads a bit of the Mac OS to Safari, kind of like having Spotlight’s ease of use in your web searches. Head over to Inquisitor for Safari for more information and to download.
Inquisitor is very easy to install and use. Double click on the installer, click install and start up Safari.

Once Safari is back open, you will notice the search bar now has “Inquisitor” listed in there.

Start typing your search term in the box, and you will notice that it starts guessing for you. I typed in “ES” and it puts up the top three sites it thinks I am searching for, along with a few general search options below. The more letters I type in, the more accurate it gets.

Cool. So, I search for Safari, and find, a two sites from apple about the browser, and a third about an O’Reilly book about Safari. If you go ahead and click on one of the top three options, it will take you directly to that site (the URL is listed below, so you can make sure you are headed where you want).

Maybe your search doesn’t pull up the site you are looking for, look a bit lower, the bottom three options will take you to a google search for the term you click on.

Overall, a fantastic little utility, it will make my searches easier and faster.
